CT 390 - Theories of Learning MathematicsSemester Hours: 3 This course explores mathematical learning theories and their influence on mathematics instruction. Topics include the historical development of mathematical learning theory, the characteristics of mathematics learners, and the nature of learning processes in mathematics. Research from cognitive science and psychology are included. In-service teachers will connect mathematics learning theory to their teaching practice.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: This course is intended primarily for students admitted to a doctoral program but may be taken by other graduate students with permission of instructor. May not be taken on a Pass/Fail basis.
