LYST 219 - Creating a Reading and Writing Workshop for TeachersSemester Hours: 3 This experiential course provides in-service and pre-service teachers with opportunities to read and write in an integrated reading/writing workshop in order that they will experience: the underlying structures that make student-centered workshops feasible; how workshops promote student growth and development in reading and writing; the mechanics of running workshops and whole language instruction. Instruction features explicit modeling and feedback.
