COMH 240 - Chronic Illness and Aging

This course examines the current state of chronic illness care and explores ways to improve the delivery and financing of services. By addressing the challenges of shifting from the primacy of acute illnesses to the predominance of chronic conditions, students will develop expertise needed to reorganize and reform health care; properly prepare health care workers; involve patients and families; use new technologies, especially information systems; enhance the role for prevention; and use funding as a mechanism for changing health care.
