CLL 151 - (LT) Studies in Literature: Haunted Venice

Semester Hours: 3
Terror, suspense and the exotic, this course abounds in dark passages, a decaying cityscape, subterranean chambers, cemeteries, and ruined palaces. This course will examine how Gothic Venice in literature, art, and music reflects our individual anxieties about the dark side of life–our fears of dissolving or transgressed boundaries between self and other, sanity and madness, civilization and savagery, good and evil.

Prerequisite(s) & Course Notes:
May be repeated when topics vary. Study Abroad : Venice.
