LAW 2981 - Advanced Problems in Comparative Health Law
This capstone seminar will reunite the students and Program faculty for one intensive week or weekend in New York, to discuss advanced problems in comparative health law. The course will place the detailed legal reasoning of individual health care decisions and the selected issues of health care regulation in a broader policy context, and critique that reasoning and regulation from different policy perspectives, such as a human right to health care, fairness in distribution of societal resources, the economics of health care, and administrative efficiency. The goal of this seminar is to expand, integrate and critique the comparative examination of health care liability and regulation.
Prerequisites & Notes
Students must have successfully completed Module 1 (namely, the three courses entitled “Comparative Health Care Liability: Compensation for Medical Accidents,” “Comparative Health Care Regulation” and “Technology-Based Analysis of Legal Reasoning”).
