BCIS 118 - Intermediate Database Management Systems


Once a year
A practical course covering the concepts of relational database management systems (RDBMS), Structured Query Language (SQL), and PL/SQL. Topics include conceptional design, relational systems design, normalization and denormalization processes and Structured Query Language and its components such as data manipulation commands. Other topics covered are advanced queries, joins, outer joins, subqueries, group functions, formatting query results, triggers, and stored procedures. Special emphasis on data security, data integrity, query optimizations, and database administration.

Prerequisites & Notes
BCIS 117; junior class standing or above. (Formerly Oracle SQL Programming.)
