BIO 144 - Animal Physiology Fall, Spring
Vertebrates are organisms that have come to terms with their environment, internal and external, via natural selection. The lecture emphasizes the classical concept of homeostasis and the modern concept of feedback mechanisms. The laboratory emphasizes the use of instruments in measuring and analyzing physiological parameters. (3 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory.)
Prerequisites & Notes BIO 137; CHEM 3A & 4A, 3B & 4B; PHYS 1A & 2A, 1B & 2B or 11A & 12A, 11B, 12B; or senior status or permission of instructor.
