EADM 236: Race, Ethnicity, and Gender in American EducationSemester Hours: 3 This course explores historical and contemporary educational practices and policies related to various ethnic and racial groups, as well as women in the United States. We will identify the social, cultural, political, and intellectual forces that shape educational policy in the teaching and learning process. We address a fundamental question: “What should America’s public schools do to provide an educational experience that emphasizes both quality and equity for all students in a democratic, pluralistic society?” Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Same as FDED 234. Students seeking certification as classroom teachers should not enroll in this course.
