AUD 541: Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring Semester Hours: 1 This course is designed to introduce the advanced audiology student to the growing field of Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring. The course will present the anatomic and physiologic bases of monitoring – for spine, neck, cranial and cardiothoracic and peripheral nerve surgeries. The techniques include SSEP, MEP, ABR, CNAP, CMAP and EMG tools; the evaluation of the data from these tools and the effects of surgical, patient and anesthesia control on the interpretation of these data.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: May only be taken on a Pass/Fail basis. Open only to matriculated students enrolled in the Au.D. program. (Formerly SPCH 393, Neurophysiologic Interoperative Monitoring.)
