ENGL 165 - 20th-Century British NovelSemester Hours: 3 Periodically
The modern British novel, its themes and innovative forms. Novels by such authors as Conrad, Joyce, Woolf, Forster, and Lawrence are studied with an eye to what makes them representative of modernism: the interest of subjectivity, impressionism, and stream of consciousness, their treatment of alienation, politics, psychology, and sexuality.
