MATH 180 - Independent Study – Undergraduate ResearchSemester Hours: 3
Periodically
Students complete an independent research project in mathematics. Students register for this course with permission of the instructor and the chairperson after or while taking MATH 145 and 171 . Grade is based on quality of mathematics and writing in thesis, level of contribution in interactions with instructor and thesis presentation.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
Prerequisites or Corequisites: MATH 145 and 171 . May be repeated for credit if instructor and chair determine a second semester is warranted for the level of mathematics in the thesis. Students who have a 3.4 overall GPA and a 3.5 mathematics GPA should take MATH 190 instead.
