REHB 242 - Assessment Practices in Rehabilitation


Semester Hours: 3
Fall
This course will provide the student with an introduction to the practice of assessment and evaluation, as they are used in the rehabilitation process. A basic overview will be given to measurement concepts used in assessment and test development. The student will become knowledgeable about test selection, administration, and interpretation. Major categories and systems of assessment used in rehabilitation counseling and vocational evaluation will be reviewed. Additionally, students will begin to become sophisticated consumers of assessment tools and acquire the skills necessary to integrate these results in order to facilitate rehabilitation planning. Emphasis will be placed on the use of assessment results in a collaborative manner with the client, fostering informed choice and decision making during the development of a rehabilitation plan.
