MPHY 230 - Fundamentals of Imaging in Medicine I Semester Hours: 3 Spring
Introduction to the fundamental principles and applications of radiological imaging modalities, including the following: planar and tomographic X-ray radiography and fluoroscopy, computed tomography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, emission computed tomography (single photon or positron emission). Introduction to fundamental imaging concepts, including image quality, image processing, reconstruction, fusion, and patient safety in imaging.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Open only to students enrolled in the MS program in medical physics or permission of program director. May not be taken on a Pass/Fail basis. (Formerly Fundamentals of Medical Imaging I.)
