PR 273 - Political Public Relations Semester Hours: 3
Fall, Spring, Summer, January
This course will prepare students to practice public relations on behalf of political candidates and governments. Students will learn how candidates can craft effective political campaigns and how government officials can most effectively communicate. The course will focus on how to frame political issues; communicate on policy; understand and shape public opinion; and harness and address political phenomena including bandwagoning, “fake news” and leaks.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: PR 261 . May not be taken on a Pass/D+D/Fail basis.
