BIO 172 - Algae and Fungi and Their Relation to the EnvironmentSemester Hours: 3 Periodically
Designed to acquaint students with the major groups of algae and fungi, with emphasis on study of representatives from Long Island and adjacent areas. Students are involved in the collection of specimens for study through class and individual field trips. Included are the study of aspects of algal and fungal ecology, algae toxic to animals and man, and fungi as agents of plant and human disease.
