RTVF 180M: Hofstra Votes Live: Studio Production
This course provides students with a basic grounding in the studio television production processes involved in covering an election. Hands-on experience will help students prepare for tasks that involve election coverage, both at the LHSC and in the professional world beyond.
The class will lead up to and culminate in the Super Tuesday primary contests on March 3rd. Early class sessions will require watching early primaries and caucuses to inform coverage. Guest lecturers will periodically discuss key issues and insights. While there will be a significant focus on the core production skills needed to successfully cover an election, critical analysis and historical context will be added to the sessions.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Specific titles and course descriptions for special topics courses are available in the online class schedule.
