Domestic Internships

The General Undergraduate internship program offers Hofstra students the opportunity to participate in internships for academic credit.  Designed to combine learning in the classroom with practical experience, internships are a meaningful and enlightening educational experience for many Hofstra students.  Please contact the Dean’s Office, Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, for more details.

Through the Department of Political Science , students also have opportunities for internships in The Washington Semester Program, The New York State Assembly Session Internship, and The Brockport Washington Program and other related internships. Please see the chair of the Political Science Department for more details.

International Internships

The Study Abroad Office offers Hofstra students opportunities to earn credits toward their academic degree by enrolling in an international internship program, which provides opportunities to participate in an internship abroad for a semester, summer session(s), or an entire academic year. Students who wish to participate in an international internship should contact the Provost’s Office at 516-463-5400 or via email at provost@hofstra.edu.

Candidates for international internships must submit a detailed proposal in the semester before starting their proposed internship. Written in consultation with the appropriate faculty adviser, the proposal must make clear the student’s objectives and suitability for off-campus education. The proposal must also indicate that there is a sound educational relationship between the proposed internship (and related coursework, if applicable) and the student’s degree plan.
