Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences, BA Major in

Program Requirements - Total Semester Hours: 42

The departmental requirement for speech-language majors is 124 semester hours for the BA degree, including 42 semester hours in the major area as follows:

This course is recommended but not required. 

Additional Requirements

In addition to the courses listed above, students must complete, under advisement, the following requirements:

  1. PSY 040 - Statistics   Semester Hours: 4
    (Speech majors may substitute SOC 180  or BIOL 124 .)
  2. At least 3 semester hours in Biology
  3. At least 3 semester hours in chemistry (CHEM) or physics (PHYS)
  4. At least 3 semester hours in Behavioral/Social Sciences Distribution (BH)  

Notes

  • It is possible to choose courses within these three areas which will also satisfy the BA Distribution Requirements.
  • Undergraduates may not register for graduate-level courses in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
