Program Requirements - Semester Hours: 30
The BA major in Italian requires the successful completion of 30 semester hours in language, culture, and literature, which includes 18 semester hours in ITAL beyond ITAL 002 and 12 semester hours in ITLT and/or ITST courses. All students must meet with an Italian faculty adviser for questions about this major; once the major is declared, an appointment with that adviser is required each semester until graduation.
In the case of transfer credits, only coursework conducted in the target language can be applied to the BA Major in Italian.
1)Italian Language and Culture Courses - Semester Hours: 18
Choose courses with the ITAL prefix beyond ITAL 002.
2) ITLT and/or ITST Courses - Semester Hours: 12
Choose courses with ITLT and/or courses with ITST prefixes.
