Religion and Contemporary Issues, Minor in

The program is suited for any student seeking greater comprehension of the ways religion is involved in the contemporary world but is designed to supplement majors that prepare students for a career in health care; law, public policy, public service; or arts or media. There are distinct sets of courses in each of these general pre-professional areas. The requirements allow students to integrate coursework from their pre-professional major into their Religion and Contemporary Issues minor, as well as to take courses specifically focusing on the role of religion in their chosen field of study.

Minor Requirements: 18 Semester Hours


At least 12 of the 18 semester hours must be RELI or JWST courses.

Religion/Pre-Professional Core Course is dependent on the Pre-Professional major.

Students will use three (3) semester hours of course work from their Pre-Professional major taken under advisement to meet this requirement.

5. Additional Pre-Professional course or Religion/Pre-Professional elective - 3 Semester Hours
