The M.A. in Spanish is designed to provide students with an intensive course
of study in the language, cultures, and literatures of Spain and Latin America
from a wide range of critical, historical, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
The program prepares students for pursuing doctoral work in either Peninsular
or Latin American studies. At the end of the program, the Master’s thesis offers
students the opportunity to do original research in an approved topic in the cultures
and literatures of Spain and Latin America.
Applicant must have completed the requirements for the B.A. in Spanish or equivalent.
Only nine semester hours of graduate transfer credits in Spanish with a grade
of B or better may be applied to the M.A. program.
