Program Requirements
A B.A. Specialization in Italian is 33 semester hours in language, culture, and
literatire which include 24 semester hours in ITAL beyond ITAL 4 and 6 semester
hours in ITLT and/or ITST courses.
The 24 semester hours in ITAL must include: Additional Program Requirements
6 semester hours in ITAL literature courses numbered 151 or above (except ITAL
160), chosen under advisement. An additional three credits of advanced literary
study is required. It is recommended that Italian majors fulfill their additional
three credits of literary study with a course in comparative literature chosen
in consultation with theur adviser in Italian. Notes:
Credit in a language course cannot be given to a student who has already earned credit for a higher-numbered course in the same language when the course numbers in question indicate level of comprehension and ability in the introductory and intermediate study of that language.
NOTES: : Language laboratory work is required in all modern foreign language courses on the 1, 2, 2R, 3, 4 level. The University general education goals and objectives relative to the composition and delivery of audience-appropriate oral presentations that develop and support a point and the demonstration of skill in oral communication for purposes such as informing, persuading, and defending are fulfilled taking ITAL 109 or 110, one of which is required for the major. |
