Program Requirements - Semester Hours: 30

A B.A. major in Italian requires the successful completion of 30 semester hours in language, culture, and literature, which includes 21 semester hours in ITAL beyond ITAL 003, and 9 semester hours in ITLT and/or ITST courses.

Notes

  • Credit in a language course cannot be given to a student who has already earned credit for a higher-numbered course in the same language when the course numbers in question indicate level of comprehension and ability in the introductory and intermediate study of that language.
  • Language laboratory work is required in all modern foreign language courses on the 1, 2, 2R, 3, 4 level. The University general education goals and objectives relative to the composition and delivery of audience-appropriate oral presentations that develop and support a point and the demonstration of skill in oral communication for purposes such as informing, persuading, and defending are fulfilled taking ITAL 109  and 110 , both of which are required for the major.
