Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Minor in

Minor Requirements - Total Semester Hours: 18


The concentration in Latin American and Caribbean Studies consists of the completion of a total of 18 s.h. distributed as follows:

1. Language Requirement


The student must fulfill the University language requirement in Spanish, Portuguese, or French, or demonstrate equivalent competency in one of those languages.

3. Elective and Comparative Courses - Semester Hours: 6


6 s.h. of elective or comparative courses listed, with no more than 3 s.h. in comparative courses.

Note: In addition to the courses listed below under Elective Courses or Comparative Courses, special topics courses (e.g., HIST 177 A-G , GEOG 106 , MASS 180 to 189 A-Z , PSC 154 A-Z , SPAN 180 A-Z ) and independent studies/readings may be included in the major or minor when covering Latin American and Caribbean themes, pending approval of program director(s).
