SPCH 135 - Communication Disorders of the Neurological System

Semester Hours: 3
Fall, Spring
This course focuses on communication disorders resulting from breakdowns in the neurological system. Disorders arising from adventitious and progressive impairment to the various sites in the central and peripheral nervous systems are explored. The consequences of these communication problems are discussed as they impact on motor, linguistic, cognitive, vocational, and socio-emotional functioning across the life-span. Five hours of observation are required.
