Campus Housing and Dining Plans

Residence Hall Accommodations

Students who register for summer session classes can choose to live in one of two traditional residence halls. All accommodations offer 24-hour staff, laundry, vending machines and kitchen services. Rooms are typically furnished with bed frame and mattress, desk, desk light, chair and wardrobe/closet. Residence hall accommodations also include access to Hofstra’s computer network, cable and local telephone access.

Applying for Housing

To apply for on-campus housing, complete the housing application found in this Bulletin and return it with full payment. Housing rates are listed on the back of the application. Assignments are made on a date-received basis with priority given to returning Hofstra resident students. (Roommate requests are considered only when both applications are sent together.) Housing may be available for visiting students.

Notification of Housing Assignments

Assignments will be made starting May 1 and will continue until all beds are filled. Assignment letters will be sent to early applicants listing their assignment and move-in dates. Late applicants will be contacted by telephone.

Dining Plans

A choice of three comprehensive meal plans are available to students for $125, $250 or $500 per session. The All Points Plan allows students to choose meals at their own discretion. Meal Plan students have the option of choosing among six dining facilities: the Student Center Café, Bits ‘n Bytes, Café Bistro, Sbarro’s, Hofstra Deli, Burlaps and Café on the Quad. Each dining area maintains flexible meal hours to meet the diversity of students’ preferences and schedules. The hours of service of the various restaurants are issued with the meal card. Meals are also available on a cash basis at all of the campus dining facilities. Meal plans can be purchased in advance by mail or at the Office of Residential Life, 244 Student Center, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday until 4 p.m. If you would like to purchase a meal plan by mail, you may include payment with your application for housing.
