JRNL 010 - Digital Journalism ToolsSemester Hours: 3 Fall, Spring
This broad survey course introduces students to the tools journalists use to report news stories online, including photography, video, audio, and social media. Students learn industry-standard software required to edit digital content and news packages, and they gain an understanding of the content management systems needed to publish news websites. Students also examine the ethical and legal issues journalists face in today’s complex online media landscape. On-campus reporting is required.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: WSC 001 . May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis. No liberal arts credit. Lab fees additional.
