BIOL 132 - Developmental NeurobiologySemester Hours: 3 A study of the morphological events that occur during the development of the nervous system combined with an investigation of the basic cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie these events. Emphasis will be placed on the development of the mammalian nervous system. The course topics will include the morphogenesis of the central and peripheral nervous systems, the cellular and genetic mechanisms underlying neural induction, neurogenesis, regionalization, synapse formation and synaptic plasticity.
