BIOL 297 01 - Advanced Techniques in Genetics
Students will explore the genetic basis of phenotypes in model organisms, using modern genetics techniques. The course requires students to prepare individual or group oral presentations, utilizing appropriate computer-based technologies. Students will also design independent experimental projects, while developing their scientific writing and presentation skills. Extensive critical reading of primary literature is a key component. The course includes 1 hour of lecture and 5 hours of lab.
Undergraduate course in genetics is recommended.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: May be repeated for credit when topics vary.
