HIT 200 - Introduction to Health Informatics Semester Hours: 3 Fall, Spring
This course provides students with the basic concepts, terminology, structure, and applications of health informatics. It is the foundational course used to ensure students have a strong knowledge of health informatics in order to progress in the program. The course explains the evolution of health care technology and the explosion of data-driven by the adoption of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). It educates students on the ways that healthcare data are used to improve clinical outcomes, create administrative efficiencies, and improve the consumer experience.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Admission to or matriculation in a Hofstra University graduate program.
