NAP 206 - Basic Principles of Evidenced- Based Anesthesia Management Semester Hours: 2
The course is designed to introduce the student to basic anesthesia procedures, technology, and management. This course presents the scientific foundation for and techniques of administration of anesthesia. Through clinical laboratory experiences and simulation, students will experientially acquire knowledge for techniques of anesthetic administration and related technologies in the context of surgical and diagnostic interventions. The knowledge, psychomotor skills, and attitudes related to fluid and electrolyte management, fluid resuscitation, peri-operative sterility, QSEN competencies, and proper documentation. Students will be exposed to pre, intra, and post-anesthesia management for basic surgical and diagnostic interventions.
