NAP 353 - Advanced Nurse Anesthesia Residency II: Transition to Practice Immersion Semester Hours: 4 This is the final clinical residency. In this second, advanced nurse anesthesia residency, students are clinically immersed in the role of the registered nurse anesthetist. Students are provided with clinical experiences that promote the independent role of nurse anesthesia practice and foster transition to real-life clinical nurse anesthesia practice. The goal of this residency is to prepare students for the application of learned knowledge in high acuity and complex surgical and ambulatory anesthesia environments. Students through the values of scholarship, leadership, accountability, social advocacy, and professionalism will demonstrate self-efficacy and competence in technical and clinical nurse anesthesia skills. As DNP student scholars, this course will complement learners with opportunities to further explore the role of the DNP-CRNA through the synthesis and application of quality, evidenced-based research, ethics, policy, population health, and inter-professional collaboration. Students will also demonstrate a scholastic aptitude for passing national board certification in nurse anesthesia.
