TAX 235 - Communication in a Digital Tax Environment Semester Hours: 3

This course prepares students to communicate and present themselves in a digital tax environment effectively and professionally. Using various digital communication tools, students will learn to modulate language as appropriate, ranging from “plain English” to taxation verbiage. The course will focus on communicating tax data to diverse stakeholders, such as boards of directors, clients, potential clients, management, and colleagues. Topics will include career preparation, digital branding, online etiquette via social media, and other digital tools. Various forms of communication will be addressed, including emails, memos, reports, presentations of visual outputs, social media, and video conferencing.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Open only to matriculated graduate students in the MS Taxation program. See specific program requirements. Credit is given for TAX 235 or ACCT 229 , not both.
