HIT 222 - Database Management Systems Semester Hours: 3
This course will introduce principles of database design. Data modeling, entity relationship (e/r) modeling, relationship data modeling and normalization. Coverage of SQL query language, big data, transaction processing, storage and indexing principles will also be covered. The emphasis will be on ETL (Extract Transform and Load) data from large schemas to data marts for the purpose of creating health analytics.
