PHA 305 - Professional Development Semester Hours: 1 This course provides the student with preparation for the transition to a practicing clinician by synthesizing all clinical aspects of medicine and addressing professional-related topics. The requisite medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, professional behaviors, and clinical/technical skills will be addressed in this culminating course (B4.03a-e). Instruction is provided designed to prepare students for the national board exam, the PANCE. To verify students have met program defined competencies required to enter clinical practice, summative assessments are included (B4.03a-e). Additionally, in preparation for student job search, a professional development seminar series is integrated into this course. The seminars are designed to assist students with curriculum vitae writing, contract negotiations, job acquisition, and choosing a healthcare facility that best fits soon-to-be graduate skills and needs.
