HIST 114 - Manufacturing Modernity: The Industrial Revolution and the Social Transformation of Europe, 1848-1914Semester Hours: 3 Periodically
This course explores the rise of modern cities in relation to the Industrial Revolution. We examine the ways in which workers accommodated and resisted new technologies. We ask how did mechanization impact men, women, and children? What role did immigration play? Our case studies include Manchester, England, Paris, France, and New York City.
