JRNL 011 - News Reporting and WritingSemester Hours: 3 Fall, Spring, Summer
This course introduces students to interviewing, reporting, and writing for online and print news outlets. Students learn key journalism concepts such as fairness and accuracy as reporting imperatives and Associated Press Style. And they explore journalism as a foundation of democracy. On- and/or off-campus reporting is required. A course goal is publication in The Hofstra Chronicle or The Long Island Advocate, the Lawrence Herbert School’s online multimedia publication.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: WSC 001 . Lab fees are additional.
