CHEM 145 - Foundations of Physical Chemistry

Fall

This course presents concepts of physics connected to the principles of chemistry through mathematics. Topics include thermodynamics and equilibria; chemical kinetics; quantum mechanics; spectroscopy; statistical thermodynamics; ionic and molecular interactions; materials. (4-hour lecture, 1-hour recitation)

 

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
CHEM 003A ; PHYS 011A  pre- or co-requisite; MATH 072  pre- or co-requisite; CHEM 131  or CHEM 135 . May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis.
