SBLY 120 - (IS) Sustainability and FoodSemester Hours: 3 Periodically
This course will examine the sustainability of our present-day food systems using a systems-thinking approach. We will explore how food production has evolved over time and the direction it is headed today. We will examine the environmental impacts of feeding a growing global population and discuss social and environmental issues related to industrial food production and food security. In addition, we will explore alternative models for food production and distribution. Lastly, students will apply concepts learned in the course to analyze the sustainability of the campus food system.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Credit given for this course or FST 004 , or SBLY 104G . May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis.
