SPCH 274 - Family-Centered Intervention for Communication Disorders Semester Hours: 1 Summer
This course will provide graduate students with crucial information
regarding the impact of communication disorders on individuals and
their families. Through role play, research and case
presentation, students will learn the role of the speech-language
pathologist and audiologist in facilitation client progress
systemically. They will gain insight into the emotional stages
and psychological issues, which challenge communicatively disordered
individuals and their families. Legal, ethical and cultural
implications will be studied. Students will have an opportunity
to practice learned skills during role-play and structured course
projects.
