CSC 60 - Fundamentals of Network SecuritySemester Hours: 3 Spring
Survey of current issues, techniques, software, hardware and
architectures related to network security. Examination of the protocols
used for Internet services, their vulnerabilities and how they can be
secured. Analysis of firewall design, cryptographic techniques,
intrusion detection, port scanning, viruses, Trojan horses, application
authentication, and denial of service attacks. Basic principles of
secure networking and application design will be studied and
discussed.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: CSC 54. May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis. (Formerly Fundamentals of Networking.)
