FA 170E - Documentary Photography

Semester Hours: 3
Every Other Spring
Students photograph extended projects that tell a story and convey the texture of people’s lives. They learn how to be keen observers of events and visually interpret the world around them. This course covers technical, aesthetic and practical considerations of shooting ‘on location.’ Much of the work takes place in New York City or on Long Island. Class critiques and visual lectures from current and historical documentary photography.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
FA 170  or permission of instructor.
