LAW 3803 - Economic Analysis of Law The course examines the use of economic analysis in the development and study of legal rules and institutions, considering the extent to which economic theory can and should be applied to legal problems. After a short introduction to economic principles, we examine the application of economic theory to specific legal issues in the law of property, contract, tort and business regulation, and consider the philosophical justifications and critiques of the economic approach to legal policy.
