CRM 001 - (IS) Introduction to Criminology

Semester Hours: 3
Fall, Spring
This course is an introduction to the interdisciplinary study of criminology. The course will provide students with a critical awareness of the various sources of information we have about crime and its impact on society. Through a combination of lectures and class discussion, the course will familiarize students with a variety of disciplinary perspectives and research findings on the types and causes of criminal behavior and societal responses, criminal law and its enforcement, and social policy issues of crime prevention and control.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis. Credit given either for this course or SOC 007 , not both.
