This is a thorough introduction to the fastest-growing area of professional journalism: data journalism. Students explore methods of storytelling using data while examining the ethical and legal issues in decision-making on such stories. Practical skills include how to navigate databases, use open records, and visualize sets of data.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
JRNL 013  or permission of instructor. May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis. Lab fees additional.
