RHET 237 - Political Rhetoric Semester Hours: 3 This course examines the use and role of rhetoric in American politics. The world in which we live is mediated by our use of language and culture. This makes political rhetoric particularly important because our often opposing and incommensurable views of the world encounter and reveal themselves in moments and sites of struggle. This course examines various rhetorical theories, and applies them to contemporary and historic instances of political rhetoric.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: May not be taken on a Pass/Fail basis.
