School of Engineering and Applied Science

The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is focused on providing the best undergraduate educational experience that it can. It offers small classes, taught by full-time faculty who also mentor and advise students as they progress toward their degree. We offer access to modern laboratories with the latest technologies and machinery, and encourage students to participate in research with a faculty member who shares their interests. It is not uncommon for a student to publish a paper jointly with a faculty member.

After achieving junior status, eligible students may, if they wish, participate in the school’s co-op program which blends real work experiences with learning. The co-op allows a student to spend a summer plus a semester at a company, gaining workplace skills and applying knowledge learned in the classroom. Such an experience frequently results in an offer of employment upon graduation.

Our graduates are employed not just as engineers or computer scientists, but also by graduate schools, financial institutions and research organizations. Their problem solving skills and technological expertise are highly prized. As the world becomes more and more technology based, engineers and scientists are in very high demand across the country, and this is likely to be the situation for the foreseeable future.
