The Business Leadership, Advanced Certificate allows students to earn a graduate certificate to advance their careers or prepare for enrollment in the MBA program.

The Advanced Certificate is a 12-15 credit program. Two options are available: 1) General option where students can take courses across multiple functions; and 2) Functional Specialization where students can take courses in a specific function.

Upon successful completion of the certificate, students can apply the credits towards Zarb School’s MBA program and the GMAT can be waived with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.

The curriculum for the Business Leadership, Advanced Certificate consists of the following courses:

Required Course:

MGT 207 - Organizational Behavior and Leadership Skills for Strategic Advantage Semester Hours: 3
Choose 3-4 courses from the following, based on the option chosen (all pre-requisites and co-requisites must be maintained as per Hofstra University Bulletin):

Option 1: General Option

ACCT 203 - Accounting and Financial Reporting Semester Hours: 3
BAN 203 - Advanced Quantitative Analysis for Managers Semester Hours: 3
FIN 203 - Managerial Finance Semester Hours: 3
IT 203 - Information Systems for Managers Semester Hours: 3
MGT 203 - Operations and Supply Chain Management Semester Hours: 3
MKT 203 - Marketing Analysis and Management Semester Hours: 3

Option 2: Functional Specialization

Take the Advanced Core course in the specific function and any two electives in the function (except for the Specialization in Finance, which requires one elective).
