Expand your horizons with a minor in Italian!

Our minor is designed for students who wish to study Italian beyond the elementary level in order to acquire greater knowledge of Italian society, history, and culture. Minoring in Italian is a great way to complement your major with additional linguistic and cultural skills. In fact, you may use this minor to support your major in related fields such as Business, Economics, Communication, Journalism & Public Relations, Linguistics, Marketing, Arts and Media, as well as Global Studies, History and Anthropology. Finally, even majors in STEM fields will find that a minor in Italian provides the humanistic background to make them more rounded.

A minor in Italian will not only enable you to speak, read, write, and listen in a second language; it will also provide you with insight into another culture's rich history, literature, and arts.

The Italian minor consists of 18 semester hours of coursework taught in Italian—i.e., with the “ITAL” prefix.

Minor Requirements - Total Semester Hours: 18

The program consists of the completion of 18 semester hours of courses listed below, with 9 semester hours in residence.
