The Organizational Communication minor provides students with an understanding of the role of communication in organizational contexts. Courses focus on how organizations and individuals within them interact with a variety of internal and external constituencies.
The Organizational Communication minor complements coursework in various majors and prepares students for careers that value clear and compelling communication skills. Students with a minor in Organizational Communication will also be well equipped for graduate or professional study in business, law, education, and other disciplines.

Program Requirements - 18 Semester Hours
A minor in Organizational Communication consists of successfully completing 18 semester hours, with at least nine (9) semester hours in-residence. All Organizational Communication minors must register with the department. Courses are taken after consultation with an advisor. All students will take a minimum of 18 semester hours chosen from both of the following areas:

Writing Studies and Rhetoric FYC seminars (WSC 014F and WSC 014S courses) may also count towards fulfilling the minor requirement in Writing Studies and Composition. These seminars will be assigned to one of the above categories based on their topics of concern.
No more than nine (9) semester hours can be used to satisfy both the minor in Organizational Communication requirements and those for any other major or minor.
